How to Use IRC

IRC (Internet Relay Chat) is a chat program that allows you to download files directly from other users or upload them directly to other users. It is often faster than BitTorrent, depending on your own connection speed and the speed of the person you're downloading from.

It may be Confusing at first, but it will soon become second nature and you will find it a nice program not only to download files, but also to chat.

This is a general introduction to IRC. The directions are mainly based from the mIRC/Sysreset program. If you have any questions, feel free to e-mail me (sailorjupiter244@yahoo.com), post in the Forum, or PM me on IRC (my nick is "SailorJupi").

Note: If you have firewall or a router, you will need to forward/open ports in order to use IRC. The most common ports that need to be open are: 113-113, 59-59, 1024-4096, and 6660-7000.

Each of the following sections are fairly short, but have been separated for clairity.
